Safe Sedation Course – Part 1 (eLearning)
Part 1 consists of the theoretical knowledge needed to improve sedation practice.
Learning outcomes are:
- Preparation for sedation;
- Administration of sedation using a structured approach;
- Monitoring a sedated patient;
- Managing complications;
- Safe discharge post sedation.
You will be eligible to attend the Safe Sedation Course – Part 2. You will receive an accredited certificate when you complete Part 2.
Safe Sedation Course – Part 2 (Simulation)
Part 2 consists of the practical knowledge needed to improve sedation practice.
Learning outcomes are:
- Preparation for sedation;
- Administration of sedation using a structured approach;
- Monitoring a sedated patient;
- Managing complications;
- Safe discharge post sedation.
It awards a certificate of completion of the Safe Sedation Course, recognised by the Royal College of Anaesthetists (6 CPD Credits) and by the Royal College of Nursing (8 CPD Credits).
Safe Sedation Champion & Lead Course
This course prepares a sedation practitioner who has undergone the Safe Sedation Course Part 1 and 2, to the role of safe sedation lead/champion to manage a team of sedation practitioners and prepare the department to meet sedation compliance requirements.
